SSB Odisha PGT Eligibility Criteria 2024
To apply for the position of PGT, a candidate must meet specific eligibility conditions in terms of educational qualifications and age limit, which are listed below.
Educational Qualification:
- A candidate needs to have a Master’s Degree in the subject they want to teach from a recognized university, with at least 50% marks.
- Alternatively, he or she has completed a six-year integrated Master’s course from a Regional College of Education recognized by NCERT.
- Additionally, a candidate must possess a B.Ed. degree recognized by NCTE. However, for certain subjects like Commerce, Education, Geology, etc., having a B.Ed. degree is not mandatory.
Age Limit:
- A candidate must be at least 21 years old, and the maximum age allowed is 38, as of January 1, 2024.
- There are exceptions for certain groups:
- Candidates from specific groups like SC, ST, SEBC, women, or ex-servicemen can be up to 5 years older.
- Candidates with a disability of 40% or more can be up to 10 years older.
- Persons with disabilities from SC/ST/SEBC categories can be up to 15 years older.
SSB Odisha PGT Application Fee 2024
The application cost for Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) positions at non-government aided high schools varies according to the candidate’s category. SEBC candidates pay a ₹500 application fee.
Candidates from Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) with 40% or more permanent disability can apply for a fee of ₹200. Aspirants must pay the required fee before the deadline or their application will not be accepted.
